Touring

This morning the school hosted an illustrated history of Galway lecture followed by a walking tour of Galway. The walking part was really cool because the guide took us through some places we had not yet been. There were way too many people on the tour though and it was hard to hear at some points. Also, we ended up losing the group right before it ended because there were too many people and we had to go through a crowded marketplace.

After that, Molly and I took a long walk around Galway Bay and took lots and lots of pictures until our camera batteries ran out. The water is so pretty and there were lots of birds to look at. My favorite was a little long-billed bird. I don't know what kind he was, but he was not part of a flock and he kept diving down like an otter and swimming around. It was so cute to watch.

We got our wireless working today! One of my roommate's friends from Villanova wanted to fool around with it and she fixed it and made it work! So now we are much happier because we don't have to wait for the one plug to be available. We got so lucky that she could help us out.

I have lots of pictures from today, but I'll pick the best ones to put up. Maybe on slow days when I don't have a lot to say, I'll pick out more of these.

There are a lot of colored houses on the coast of the bay and I absolutely love them. I think I took about 10 different angles of this picture.

When our tour went past this pub, a group of guys came out dressed as clergymen and they were so funny. They started singing "Oh Come All Ye Faithful" and pretending to give sermons and stuff. I think they were some kind of bachelor party or something although it was a bit early in the day to be drinking.

This is just a little row boat called "Claddagh." The colored houses are in the background but they look more vibrant in person.

Some daring locals were sitting on the wall that separates pedestrians from the River Corrib. Don't worry, Mom, I have never done this.

This is me sitting on a wall by Galway Bay. There are little patches of beaches but they look kind of gross with seaweed and other things from the bay strewn all around them. Lots of locals were walking their dogs or riding bikes by the beach.
