There are plenty of signs telling tourists where they are at the Guinness Factory and Storehouse. If you ever forget you're in Guinness Country, shame on you.About halfway through the tour, everyone gets a chance to taste a small amount of fresh Guinness. Now, I don't normally like Guinness and I don't see what all the fuss is about, but I can tell you that the little bit I tasted in the factory was DELICIOUS. It was very sweet and if all Guinness tasted like that, I would probably have a pint every now and then.
This is Molly and me in the Guinness Tasting Lab.The tour ends in the highest part of the building: The Gravity Bar. It offers a 360 degree view of Dublin and everyone is given a free pint of Guinness or a soft drink. I drank Coke because I just do not enjoy Guinness that much, but that Coke was fantastic.
The view is not actually so great from the Gravity Bar. There is a lot of construction going on in Dublin right now and it just kind of looks like a dirty city. But, there are quotes from James Joyce's books on the windows so it gives it a more Ireland-y feel.Side note: Anyone can now comment on the blog without an account should they so choose. I changed the settings to include Anonymous posters. If I had known this was an option, I would have done it ages ago. Sorry to everyone who made an account to post comments. But thank you for the comments, I love them!

figures, free food and beer. You are your fathers daughter
hey kristin, I have been to the guinness factory too! The guinness tastes so different, alot better, not as bitter and strong as it usually does other places. You should try Smithwicks, it is more of a lighter amber lager. It is quite delicious. I did not like Dublin so much when I was there. We were only there for a day, but it was rainy and just very much like the Irish version of New York City. I much prefer the countryside.
