It has not rained every day I've been here. Today is my eighth day and there have been 2 full days with no raindrops whatsoever. Yesterday was a beautiful day but it drizzled a little bit in the evening and rained more at night. We woke up this morning to a LOT of rain and wind--I imagine that's Hanna.
When it does rain it's usually a passing shower that takes forever to pass. I always think it's going to be over quickly but it lasts longer than a passing shower in the states. We've only had one day with torrential rain and that was the day Molly and I hiked across town for a wireless router (and it was completely worth it). The temperatures are always cool but it gets hot when we've been walking for 20 minutes to get to school. I mostly wear a jacket over a plain long-sleeve shirt and it works. If I think it's going to rain I wear my light rain jacket. If it doesn't look like rain in the morning, I wear my North Face and take an umbrella.
This is a picture I took at noon today from our window nook. As you can see, it is dreary and does not look at all like high noon. It is wet today.
